“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art…. It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.”
Welcome to my little world of wandering words and fleeting moments caught in an instant of light exposure. Hope you like what you find, and even if you don’t, I’m still grateful for being given the chance to share my thoughts with you. Alas, here is another contribution to WordPress’ Weekly Photo Challenge, this time with the theme friend.
I hope you enjoy my photos, for without an audience, a photo is nothing but a play with lights!

She materialised out of nowhere. On moment we were blissfully enveloped in the deep morning silence, each of us gripped by our own thoughts -and a dose of sleepiness, to be fair, seeing as it was barely 6 a.m. and we had been up for two hours already- and the next, she and a couple of her mates were pulling us out of that zone, weaving through and running ahead then stopping and looking back at us as if wondering why we couldn’t keep up.
As the day passed and we walked further into the berry-coloured mountains, her friends dropped out on by one until she was the only one still keeping pace with us. The roads meandered, the fog settled and lifted, and we grew fond of her. And for a few hours, we -and I suspect her- considered each other friends.
Later that morning, we climbed a hill which was too steep for her to follow. She stood at the bottom, with a look which I suspect was blurred by shades of mourn.
I looked around at the top of the hill, hoping to find her waiting for us. But she wasn’t there.
“Seems like she has made new friends.” My friend said, her index finger pointing at her far below, running toward another group of walkers in the distance.
